Horsemanship Lessons

Introductory Level – Students will learn about general care and proper grooming techniques as well as how to safely lead, turn, and maneuver their horse through introductory obstacles such as around cones and over ground poles.

Intermediate Level – Students will learn more advanced grooming and equine care techniques and will continue to build upon their horsemanship skills. Showmanship patterns and obstacle courses will become more challenging, and horses will be maneuvered at a faster pace while maintaining control and connection.

Advanced Level – Students will hone their horsemanship skills further and begin jumping courses in-hand. Obstacle and agility work will expand to include more complicated maneuvers, and students will have the opportunity to compete and showcase their horse at various local and state competitions.

Training Level – This program is geared towards our most advanced students who will have the opportunity to work with a young or green project animal under close supervision and collaboration with their trainer. Selected project animals will undergo extensive groundwork training which may including round penning, long reining, and ground driving along with liberty work. This program is intended to be a 9-12 month long project. Students will be encouraged to keep a training journal to document their progress.

Mini and Me Offerings

Mini and Me Lessons – This program is designed for our youngest of equine enthusiasts who are just embarking upon their equestrian journey. Students will learn how to safely approach, groom and lead a mini under careful supervision. Parents and caregivers are encouraged to participate and may be requested to provide minimal assistance when necessary.

Mini and Me Meet and Greet – We recognize that some visitors may only wish to pet and visit with our miniature horses or simply observe them graze or play out in the field. We are always happy to work with you to modify a visit to meet your needs and desires. Simply being in the presence of a horse is a heart-warming experience and one we are happy to share.

Mini and Me Photo Opportunities – We are pleased to provide our magical minis for seasonal photo opportunities throughout the year in collaboration with our farm photographer(s). We will post information about these sessions as they become available, or you can contact us to enquire about scheduling a private session.
